Anthony Nolte

General Counsel. CFO. Startup Advisor. Mentor. Investor. Counselor. Teacher.  These are just a few of the titles that Tony Nolte has held. Tony has spent his career being a champion for growth, compliance and transformation for his clients.

For nearly three decades, Tony Nolte served as a business and financial executive, as well as in-house counsel for Shell in Houston. In these roles, he worked on mergers, acquisitions and divestitures, joint ventures, co-branding, franchising, corporate structuring and financing, contract negotiation, drafting, and review, from both the business and the legal perspectives. He was deeply involved with Sarbanes-Oxley implementation, Ethics and Compliance, and was the US Financial Compliance officer and Anti-Money Laundering officer at Shell.

Following his time at Shell, Nolte took on roles as Head of Finance and Counsel for a Private Equity backed home décor company, and then as CFO and General Counsel for a fintech company. He has also held fractional CFO and General Counsel roles with B2B Fintech and SaaS/AI entities.

In addition to his executive experience, Tony Nolte mentors startups in the Greenville ecosystem, as well as being a limited partner in the Greenville Next Founders Fund. He is an Angel Investor in companies focused on SaaS, AI, Blockchain, Biotech and Legal Document Automation. He also teaches Business Law as an adjunct professor at Furman University.
